Age: Henry has no canon age, but considering the youth of most of the other characters in the game, it is likely he is in his early 20s. He has the emotional maturity of a five year old in many respects.
History: Unfortunately, the wiki page for Henry is not very comprehensive about his history, or what little we can extrapolate from the stories he tells in his supports. When Henry was very young, perhaps even still an infant, his parents abandoned him in the forest near where they lived. He was taken in and raised by a feral she-wolf who took care of him and taught him how to survive. When Henry was somewhat older, a band of hunters found the wolf and killed her. This sent Henry into a violent rage and even as a child, managed to brutally murder all of them.
After that incident, his parents worked harder to get rid of him by sending him away to a mage school designed to raise powerful dark mages. Plegia, Henry's home country, has a national religion that worships the Fell Dragon Grima, a deity of destruction, death, and harbinger of the apocalypse. It is a country known for it's dark magic. At this school, Henry was both tutored in the usage of magic, and tortured to harden him. He mentions brutal punishments he would endure there that permanently increased his tolerance for pain.
When he graduated and how long it has been since then has not been stated, but it seems likely that Henry enlisted into the Plegian army very soon after, considering his widespread fame and his prowess as a soldier. When we meet him, Henry has been part of Walhart's forces thus far, but chooses to defect to the Heroes' side of the war. His decision to turn cloak is revealed in his support with Panne. She asks him why and he tells her that after the Exalt, the leader of Ylisse, the country the Heroes hail from, was killed, he feared that the war would end too quickly for his taste, and believed that fighting for Ylisse would draw the war out longer, and allow him to kill more people, an activity he considers quite fun.
After joining "your" army, Henry continues to fight on the side of Ylisse for the rest of the plot of the game.
Presentation: What's the outside like? Their personality? How do they present themselves to the world? This section, along with motivation, should be the meat and potatoes of your app, with at least 2-3 paragraphs.
Motivations: And what's going on on the inside?
Setting: How do you plan for this character to react to the Games setting? We are not looking for specifics, but more of a general idea for how you plan to play your character reacting to repeated, violent events, and their agency being stripped away from them.
SAMPLES
First Person Thread: An example of a first person post, at least 200 words minimum. Feel free to use introspection and scene setting if your character is not chatty. Please use one of the two following prompts:
For Tributes: You have just been killed in your first Arena. It was violent, messy, and unexpected. And just as suddenly you wake back up in a very cold, very medical room. After a few moments of silence, a voice comes up over the speakers.
"Please use the device to the right to record your current feeling on your loss. Once you are finished, someone will be along to take you back to the Capitol." On cue, a small recording device starts to chirp at your side.
It is quite clear that you will be staying in the room until you make that recording.
Prose: 200 word minimum. To mimic the style of the game, please write your third person sample based on the following prompt:
You have been set in a room in front of the Gamemakers to be judged on a score of one to twelve, with one being the lowest and twelve being the highest. The Gamemakers sit safely behind a force field and watch, and you are provided with an array of weapons and targets, though no gun to be seen.
If you are a new Tribute, you have been plucked from home and rushed in here with only a brief explanation of what is going on: You are about to enter an Arena death match that only one person will make it out of, and impressing these people will help you live.
If you are someone from Panem, then you are very unlucky. You know what's going on but... you were told all the Tributes were from a foreign land now. So why are you in front of the Gamemakers fighting for your life now? Are you a criminal, a traitor, deeply in debt? Or do you even know why you were shoved in to this room?
What is your character scored: When scoring your character take into account their physical strengths and weaknesses, mental strengths and weaknesses, and crowd likability. The score on your app has nothing to do with the Gamemakers session in your sample, it is an OOC score for mod purposes and should not be based on how they actually are in front of the Gamemakers. In addition, please list their powers, for Arenas that allow powers.
Token: Please list one item that the character would want with them in the Arena as a personal memento or symbol. This item can be anything from a piece of jewelry to a family photo, as precious as a gemstone or as innocuous as a slinky and anywhere in between. If this is a weapon or something else that gives an unfair advantage, it won't be allowed, but the Tribute's stylist team will make sure the Tribute gets a pin with a symbol of their weapon on it. Pins are all the rage right now. This token can be changed at will later so don't worry too much about it if you can't think of anything.
